It’s International Women’s Day 2024! We, as a team, strongly believe that rugby is a game for all and that is why we always support the game at every level, for everyone. It is our rugby club’s responsibility to be an encouraging, safe place for women and girls. When women themselves are inspired to be included, there’s a sense of belonging, relevance and empowerment. If we work together, we can continue to create positive change through open mindsets and inclusive actions. Let’s truly #EmbraceEquity to build a better world for women everywhere. A statement from Kate Hallett, Chair of Women & Girls Rugby at Windsor RFC: “With continued high numbers of girls dropping out of sport after primary school or avoiding sport altogether when on their period, Windsor Rugby Club can be justifiably encouraged by the progress made so far. The volunteers across the Dames and Damsels sections and throughout the wider minis and youth section are ensuring that there are playing opportunities and facilities for women and girls at our club. We have incredible sponsors in Worldwide Education & Care, Windsor & Eton Brewery and Moneytree Payroll, who share our determination to maintain accountability to provide adequate facilities and support as we navigate age-old hurdles and prejudices.
