A warm welcome to the Windsor Rugby Club U12s
(For boys in Year 7)

We have an amazing group of youngsters who enjoy playing rugby with a big focus on having fun, learning the game, and working as a team.
As a group of players, coaches and parents we have evolved the following set of principles for how we approach our rugby.

Culture
• Ensure a competitive, fun environment
• Continue to build a happy, healthy and supportive squad mentality
• Build a strong sense of identity with Windsor Rugby Football Club
• Treat players, coaches, referees and parents with respect at all times, adhering to TREDS principles.
• Recognise and celebrate successes in a positive, supportive environment.
Development
• Looking to grow the squads and develop players towards the full 15 aside a game.
• Focus on the principles of play: support, continuity, pressure, contest possession, go forward.
• Enter and take part in as many festivals, tournaments and competitive matches as possible to involve and give as many players great game experiences.
Selection
• Competitive selection with the best players in the best squads, selected on form, attitude and attendance
• Giving clear opportunities to perform and progress through squads
• Movement between the squads enables players to develop in different environments and roles (leadership and responsibility as well as team positions)

2024/25 Season Aims
Improving core rugby skills of every player and creating fun memories.
Continued player development playing well against quality opposition and a good showing in our first competitive cup competition (Middx Cup).
Specific team focus areas of speed and agility, being comfortable in contact and ball skills. All training anchored around this.
