Saturday Review:

On Saturday the Men’s 1st XV travelled to Berkshire Sports Club to play Rams 3rd XV in their last match of the season in Southern Counties North.

In perfect conditions a strong Windsor side played some very entertaining rugby in front of a good crowd. Many thanks to all the supporters that travelled to watch the game and to Tracey Keogh for some great photos that are now on the website.

The game was over by half time with Windsor leading by 45 points to 5.

The second half was a scrappy affair with Windsor adding 3 more tries and conceding a further consolation try to the home side.

A fitting end before the final whistle with the final try being scored by Mike Mills and converted by Co-Captain Chris Emmett. Both players were playing their final matches before retirement.

Windsor consolidate their position in second place in the league. However it appears that it will not be good enough to secure promotion.

A very good season winning 17 out of 22 league matches. Very well done to Andy Symons and his coaching team and all the players. A big thank you to all the volunteers and members that have supported the side. It has been much appreciated.

The Men’s 1st XV have a talented young squad of players and the foundations are set for a successful 2024/2025 season where promotion will be the goal for not just the Men’s 1st XV but the Development XV also.

Final Score Rams 3rd XV 10, Windsor 66.

Windsor’s player of the match was Colt Josh Madden who has made a great impact with his contributions on the field in the second half of the season and is richly deserved.

Vansittart Arms Player of the Match Josh Madden.

The Men’s 3rd XV had an entertaining match away at Aldermaston, playing their 2nd XV in a Thames Valley Invitational League Match. In a very high scoring game Windsor lost by 2 points by 52 points to 50.

From all accounts an enjoyable game on and off the field”! A great advert for social rugby!
