Last weekend the Men’s 1st XV, Dev XV and Senior Women were all in league action after missing a week due to Storm Darragh.

Last Saturday the Men’s 1st XV and Dev XVs both travelled to Reading for their latest league matches with two strong squads.

The Men’s 1st XV put in a strong first half performance and went into the break 38 points to 7 up.

The second half ,however, was a different story as Windsor seemed to lose their fluency and shape against a Reading side that never gave up.

As a consequence Windsor were only able to add one more converted try in the second half with Reading adding the same.

Final Score Reading 14, Windsor 45;

The Men’s 1st XV remain in third place in the league behind unbeaten Oxford Harlequins and Chinnor 3rd XV, although Windsor do have a game in hand on both sides.

This Saturday the Men’s XV host Bicester in their last league match of 2024 when they will be looking to finish 2024 in a positive manner.

The Men’s Dev XV put in a good performance against Reading 2nd XV in their BBO Counties 3 League Match winning by 31 points to 8.

The Men’s Dev XV are now in 5th place in the league with a game in hand on their nearest rivals Reading and Reading Abbey 2nd XVs.

The Men’s Dev XV finish 2024 with an away league match against Bracknell 3rd XV, who currently sit second in the league.

Last Sunday the Senior Women hosted NC2 South East ( North West) league leaders Belsize Park at Home Park. The Dames came up against a well organized and well drilled Belsize Park side and put in a very committed and spirited performance.

The final result was a 49 points to 19 defeat with captain Jess O’Sullivan, Cherelle Jameson and Megan Fullam all scoring tries, with Cherelle also converting 2 of them.

Comments from Sharon Richards ( Head of Women at Windsor RFC and Dames player):

‘A strong Belsize Park challenged Windsor from the start with a tough first half for the Dames. A physical game throughout, the Dames managed to find their way in the second half but sadly was too late against this strong undefeated top of the league side. The game finished 19-49. The Dames now sit in the middle of their league, with two games in hand so still plenty of time to get back to the top of the table! ‘
